4/16/2024- Updates and Reminders


IMPORTANT ACTION NEEDED: Next Year Report Form- As we come to Quarter 4 of the school year, we understand a significant amount of our families may be making preparations to move due to permanent change of station orders. In anticipation of this, and in preparation for the next school year, it is important our administrative staff has the best understanding of the enrollment for next school year. Please fill out this survey regarding your child(ren)'s status for next school year, even if you are planning to come back to Nimitz for SY24-25. If you have multiple children, please fill out this survey for each of your Nimitz ES children.

Weekly Reminder: NES Absence Reporting System- If you know your child will be absent, it is important you notify us using our absence reporting system. You can report an absence using this link, which is also available on our website and at bit.ly/NESAbsenceReport.


Celebration: Nimitz Choir at RC Music Festival- Shout outs to Ms. Charles and the Nimitz Choir! They did a great job last week at our Radford Complex Music Festival with their booming piece, Bombella! 


SBA Testing SY23-24- Every school year, Nimitz grade 3-6 students will participate in the Smarter Balanced Assessment, the Hawaii Department of Education standardized test for measuring achievement in Math, ELA, and Science for grade 5 students. If you are a parent of a grade 3-6 student, please read this letter that goes over this year’s test schedule and tips on how to prepare. Airport Art Contest- The Office of Curriculum and Instructional Design (OCID), in collaboration with the Department of Transportation - Airports Division at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, invites Hawaiʻi Department of Education students in grades K-6 in Oahu schools to submit their artwork to be showcased in a year-long Daniel K.
